Part Time Corporate Paralegal

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and assist with a variety of agreements, including confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, service agreements, amendments, material transfer agreements, and purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for legal and contract-related inquiries and manage matter intake processes.
  • Aid in corporate governance matters, such as drafting resolutions and supporting board-related activities.
  • Support compliance initiatives, policy development, and institutional training programs.
  • Cook with internal stakeholders to monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external parties to track legal, regulatory, and legislative developments impacting research and life sciences organizations.
  • Maintain legal templates, files, and records management systems.
  • Assist with outside counsel management, invoice tracking, and legal department administration.
  • Conduct legal research and help prepare legal documents and reports.
  • Monitor deadlines, deliverables, and follow-up items across various legal matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including redlining, document comparison, formatting, and document management.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing contracts in a legal, compliance, or corporate environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Prior experience working in an in-house legal department strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting compliance, governance, or contract management functions.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems or similar software.
  • Experience within life sciences, healthcare, higher education, or research organizations is a plus.
