Job Summary
The Part-Time School-Based Clinician works at the Cobble Hill School of American Studies High School in Brooklyn NY. The position is responsible for the delivery of age-relevant program activities and direct services, outreach, and paperwork for billing and clinical purposes. The School-Based Clinician will report to the Site Manager and/or Clinical Program Manager. The School-Based Clinician position is a part-time position, 3-4 days a week supervised by the Site Manager. The salary is $27.84-$31.25.
Responsibilities
- Maintains attendance and educational progress for a caseload of students
- Provides individual and group counseling to students on a weekly basis
- Sets up and facilitates classroom sessions – Advisory, Side by Side, and/or SEL curriculum
- Outreaches to students and their families through phone calls, written correspondence, and home visits
- Provides crisis counseling, conflict mediation, and social-emotional support
- Completes screenings, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and provides referrals
- Completes timely documentation for clinical and billing purposes (EMR Dr. Cloud)
- Attends staff meetings and staff development opportunities
- Collaborates on transdisciplinary team of Wediko and school staff to create individualized plans to support student progress
- Participates in PBIS and other multi-tiered systems of supports in the school
- Occasionally works evenings and weekends (for school events, college visits, etc.)
- Supports the facilitation of professional development workshops for school staff
- Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with school staff and other school-based partners
- Represents The Home for Little Wanderers in the field via participation or presentations at panels, conferences, meetings, etc.
- Supports the implementation of the Community School Model
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in mental health/counseling (e.g., MSW, M.S. Ed in Counseling, MFT, etc.)
- Licensed professional strongly preferred
- Experience working within or managing programs serving youth and families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as some weekends/evenings in support of school events
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
