Part-time Christian Counselor

About the Role

Our vision is to heal and transform lives as we set the standard in connecting the Gospel and clinical excellence. This part-time position involves providing counseling sessions for individuals, couples, families, and groups, with a strong emphasis on the Gospel-Centered Integrative Framework for Therapy (GIFT).

Responsibilities

• Conduct a minimum of 450 sessions annually (10 sessions/44 weeks), with 30% during peak hours
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of sessions
• Adhere to professional best practices, including ethical codes, timely call returns, and appointment scheduling
• Consult and collaborate with other providers for client care
• Attend individual/group supervision and annual mandatory meetings
• Pursue ongoing training and supervision to enhance understanding and application of GIFT
• Demonstrate RCS core values and care for staff and ministry

Qualifications

• NYS license, equivalent clinical hours, or limited permit
• Master’s degree in counseling or related field
• At least 2 years of clinical experience with strong retention and client evaluations
• Understanding of ethical standards in a Christian ministry context
• Capacity to integrate theology and psychology
• Theological alignment with Redeemer Presbyterian Church
• Active membership in a Christian church
• Flexibility, adaptability, and openness to feedback

• Growing application of GIFT core clinical structures
• Specialization in one clinical issue or modality (Band 4&5)

Knowledge

• Growing to strong understanding and application of GIFT
• Understanding of Christian ministry cultures and contexts

Pay

$50 - $75 per hour, depending on experience after the training period.

Schedule

Minimum of 10 clinical hours and maximum of 25 hours per week, with 30% peak hours required.
