Part Time Child Care Educator (Vancouver School District)
Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended-day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students. About the role
As an Educator or Substitute Educator, you will drive our mission by fostering a love of learning and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for children. You will collaborate with a team of mission-driven individuals to deliver high-quality, affordable programs.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, discuss professional progress, and encourage team collaboration and accountability.
- Organize and facilitate daily activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives, including structured fitness, educational, and enjoyable activities for all ages.
- Lead by example, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment through positive guidance and effective classroom management.
- Prioritize safety and joy by monitoring the environment, addressing hazards, and following safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Requirements
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
- Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
- Meet state-specific requirements, including:
- First Aid and CPR certification (in-person).
- Cleared tuberculosis test.
- Proof of MMR vaccination.
- 18+ years of age.
- Proof of High School diploma or GED.
Pay
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on education and experience).
Schedule
Monday–Friday, must be available all 5 days. After-school shift: 2:40 PM–6:00 PM. Actual schedule will be based on program needs.
