Role Overview

An Occupational Therapist Assistant provides evidence-based occupational therapy to patients in their homes, aiming to restore their physical abilities. They follow treatment plans set by supervising OTs, adhere to state regulations, and document patient responses and condition changes. The role involves instructing patients, families, and healthcare team members within the scope of practice, demonstrating flexibility to work in diverse home environments regardless of patient background.

Responsibilities

• Implementing treatment plans as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitoring and reporting patient progress and condition changes.
• Educating patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques.
• Ensuring compliance with state laws governing occupational therapy practice.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, or access to reliable transportation.
• Preferred: CPR certification, strong multitasking, independence, and good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
