Part Time Cafeteria Attendant

Job Overview

Cheyenne Mountain Resort, Destination by Hyatt is seeking a Cafeteria Attendant to join their team. The position operates within the staff cafeteria, ensuring a quality, safe, and hygienic food and beverage experience for internal guests.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• To operate the staff cafeteria according to the provided task list.
• To provide excellent service and courtesy to staff members.
• To retrieve food products from the kitchen and ensure they are set up on the buffet in the cafeteria.
• To maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area, cupboards, counters, tables, chairs, equipment, and dish racks.
• To ensure proper methods of rotation and utilization of food at all times.
• To adhere to Board of Health regulations, Food Safe, Workers' Compensation regulations, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System regulations, hotel conduct policies, and the Collective Agreement.
• To secure storage areas during absences from the cafeteria and ensure proper stock of dishware and equipment are kept on hand.
• To return soiled products including linens for cleaning in an organized manner using a cart.
• To communicate with supervisors about any deficiencies, discrepancies, or issues including equipment repairs, shortages, spoilage, people, hotel or department deviations.
• To follow the contractor policy regarding the use and eating in the cafeteria.
• To perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a hotel or related industry.
• Effective communication skills with all levels of guests, employees, and management.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• The ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• A Safe Food Handling certification.
