KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Job Description Job Title: Part Time Café Manager Job Title Code: 00261 Salary Grade: E01/31 - $20 per hour - flat rate Department: Career and Technical Education (CTE) Reports To: Director of CTE FLSA Status: Non-exempt Position Summary: The Café Manager is responsible for Café operational management of The Cardinal Cafe. The Café Manager will also ensure high standards of food handling, customer service and effective use of resources to enhance the culinary environment for students, visitors and staff. What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities) Supervise and direct the work of assigned personnelPrepare and sell convenient food for patronsProvide feedback on student participation/work as needed to ensure Café / Culinary arts goals are achievedPerform tasks to open the café area. Arrive at least 1 hour prior to openingClean and maintain café area at all times in order to ensure the cafe area and all appliances are washed and clean for the next shift as neededComplete nightly inventory and revenue reportsServe customers in a friendly, professional mannerPromote dishes as needed to encourage patron participation and feedback as needed To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To Have: (Qualifications) High School Diploma or GEDThree (3) years prior food service experienceExcellent communication skillsCurrent food handler’s permitFood handler licenseKnowledge of inventory and procurement processBasic math and writing skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
