About the role
This person will be responsible for teaching the GED test areas (reading and language arts, writing, social studies, science, and math).
Responsibilities
- Implement various instructional delivery methods that include group or individualized instruction and computer programs
- Plan lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skilled students
- Create a climate that encourages and supports learning
- Plan and prepare relevant and practical class lessons and monitor students’ performance
- Administer post-TABE and practice tests to identify level gains, individual progress, and areas of improvement
- Teach skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions
Requirements
- Level of knowledge normally gained through completion of an undergraduate degree
- Minimum 3 years of work-related experience
- Ability to use a variety of audio-visual equipment
