This is a part-time, on-call position with hours and assignments that vary based on business requirements.
About the role
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Box Truck Driver to make local and regional pickups within approximately a 200-mile radius. The driver will operate a company box truck to pick up and transport materials, products, and equipment while providing professional service to customers and representing the Company in a positive manner.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Company box truck for local and regional pickups
- Travel within approximately a 200-mile radius of the Company's location
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials as required (with other team members)
- Inspect the vehicle before and after trips and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Complete required delivery and pickup documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers and Company personnel
- Follow all applicable traffic, safety, and Company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Assist with warehouse operations when not on delivery routes, including moving inventory and organizing stock
Requirements
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- 2-5 years experience driving a box truck (CDL Class A or B is not required)
- Clean and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to safely operate a box truck
- Ability to safely load, secure, and unload materials
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable and dependable with a strong attendance record
- Professional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team and manage time effectively
- Ability to successfully complete a required medical certification examination through a Company-designated occupational medical provider
Driver Requirements
Employment is contingent upon meeting the Company's driver qualification requirements, which include:
- Verification of a valid driver's license
- Review of the applicant's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Successful completion of the Company's required medical certification examination through an occupational medical provider
- Meeting all applicable federal, state, and Company requirements for operating the assigned vehicle
