Part Time - Biofuels - Research Assistant

Job Duties

• Preparation of tissue culture media, growth hormones and culture of explants under sterile conditions.
• Afford assistance with DNA, RNA and Protein isolation.
• Perform routine upkeep of the laboratory and Greehouse.
• Collect, analyze data and be involved in publishing papers as co-authors.
• Provide support in working on cancer cell lines and engineering cannabinoid pathway genes in E.Coli.
• Support the PI and Director of the laboratory with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in metabolic engineering of industrial hemp.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques including DNA, RNA and Protein isolation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of molecular biology and genetics.

Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
