Part Time Behavior Intervention Paraprofessional -4 Positions Available- Southwest Educational Academy

About the role

Southwest Education Academy is seeking four Part-Time Behavior Intervention Paraprofessionals to work 27.5 hours per week. This position supports students with moderate to intensive behavior and/or mental health needs under the direction of the school principal, collaborating with Special Education Educators, School Counselors, and/or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing behavioral programs and intensive behavior intervention services for students with disabilities.
• Establish effective rapport with students and motivate them to develop appropriate social skills and attitudes for improved behavior and greater independence.
• Maintain professional relations with staff.
• Collect, document, manage, and use data to inform functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, emergency safety interventions, referrals, problem-solving, schedules, and services.
• Use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) effectively to support data-driven changes to student programming.
• Collaborate with school professionals and paraprofessionals to build the school's capacity to address students' behavior and/or mental health needs.
• Participate in regular on-going professional development to maintain current knowledge and improve skill application.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal policies and procedures for special education and behavior compliance.
• Provide instructional support assistance to students and student groups.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and execution of classroom management systems.
• Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with others.
• Operate office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.
• Comply with established district policies and procedures.

Schedule

27.5 hours per week. Position remains open until filled.
