Responsibilities
- Provide courteous table service to all dining room guests.
- Taking orders and delivering/retrieving all courses promptly.
- Serving food and beverages using proper serving techniques.
- Accurately recording food and beverage charges.
- Setting dining room tables with proper linen, china, and silverware before service time.
- Performing side work duties such as folding napkins, refilling salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowls, and organizing the supply storage room.
- Ensuring compliance with state and local sanitation codes.
- Creating a positive first impression by greeting customers professionally and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ensuring adherence to company and legal standards for food and beverage service.
- Completing all side work duties at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of prior wait staff experience (or 2 years with a plus).
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Able to handle difficult situations effectively.
- Personable, friendly, and providing excellent customer service.
- Professional posture.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Pay
The hiring range for this position is $8.15 per hour plus tips. In accordance with Massachusetts law, all tipped employees are guaranteed to earn at least the applicable state minimum hourly wage. If an employee's combined hourly wage and tips fall below this threshold during any shift, Hobbs Brook will make up the difference to ensure compliance. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
