Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous food service to customers.
• Set up, service, and break down assigned functions safely and efficiently.
• Read Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and complete setups accurately.
• Set tables in assigned area correctly and uniformly.
• Maintain station neatness and cleanliness while servicing guests per established policies and procedures.
• Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down for buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
• Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up and breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
• Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by policies/procedures regarding food and beverage service.
• Follow all guest check and money-handling procedures when serving à-la-carte and beverage orders.
• Complete assigned side work.
• Remain attentive to customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards.
• Local travel for outside catering functions only.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar position for 3 months or longer.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food service functions, and restaurant and kitchen operations.

Physical Demands

• Lifting trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. (20–40 lbs).
• Pushing carts, Queen Marys, hotboxes, portable bars (50–100 lbs).
• Carrying trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. using both hands (20–40 lbs).
• Ability to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
• Bending/kneeling to lower-level cabinets and lift trays.
• Maneuvering in narrow areas and between seated guests.
• Continuous standing (100% of scheduled time) to service guest functions.
• Climbing approximately 12 steps (20% of an 8-hour shift).
• Moderate comprehension and literacy to read use records and special requests.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Highly organized with attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks.
• Use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.

Schedule

• Able to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Environment

• Physically strenuous, prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying throughout the entire shift in a 95% indoor environment.
• Exposure to freezer temperatures as low as -10 degrees.
