About the role
Boutique aviation law practice representing pilots and aviation professionals in FAA regulatory, employment, certification, and appellate matters. The firm works directly with clients on FAA approvals, enforcement issues, administrative proceedings, and related litigation. This is a highly specialized practice with direct mentorship from the firm's founder and exposure to niche aviation and regulatory work.
Responsibilities
- Support FAA regulatory and aviation-related legal matters
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and correspondence
- Assist with appellate and administrative law work
- Work directly with the firm's founder, who will train on the aviation side of the practice
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to IL bar
- Experience in a law firm
- Experience on a law review or similar scholarly legal publication is a plus
- Exceptional legal writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective legal strategies
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Transcripts and writing samples may be requested
