Responsibilities
- Audit and review financial statements for clients in commercial industries.
- Engage in risk assessment, develop audit strategies, and establish timelines for engagements.
- Prepare and review GAAP financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Mentor, supervise, and review the work of staff auditors.
- Communicate with clients to resolve issues, discuss findings, and deliver audit results.
- Maintain proper documentation in accordance with firm policies and auditing standards.
- Handle multiple engagements simultaneously, balancing independence and teamwork.
- Collaborate with the Audit team to enhance client relationships and provide exceptional service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Experience as an auditor for a public accounting firm, focusing on audit and assurance engagements in commercial industries.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including technical accounting concepts and financial statement presentation requirements.
- Ability to prepare and review GAAP financial statements and related disclosures.
- Experience mentoring, supervising, or reviewing work of staff-level team members.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word (Microsoft 365 suite).
- Familiarity with accounting systems (ProSystems, CCH) is a plus.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Part-Time: Approximately 20–30 hours per week.
- Flexible Hours: Work during typical business hours (preferred) with options for evenings/weekends.
- Remote Work: 100% remote, work from anywhere in the U.S. (NJ/NY residence preferred).
