Part Time - Associate Certified Nursing Assistant (DOH/FBMC #27339+)

Salary: $18.69 - $28.04 hourly / $38,885 - $58,327 annually

About the role

This part-time position will provide direct personal care and related support to long-term care facility residents to maintain quality care services and provide an optimum quality of life. Ensures adherence to Department of Health and facility policies and procedures. Resident care assignment may include adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients' needs.
• Turn or reposition bedridden patients.
• Provide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.
• Review patients' dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure patient receives appropriate diet.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake or urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Nursing Aide (CNA) OR eligible to attain certification.
• Must possess and maintain a current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification from the State of New Mexico or must receive certification within four (4) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
• This position is designated as safety sensitive; employment is subject to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing.
• Must pass a tuberculosis (TB) screening upon hire.
• Employment is subject to a nationwide criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order requiring adherence to COVID-related requirements, including masking and staff vaccination.

Working Conditions

• Works throughout the nursing service area (e.g., nurses' stations, resident rooms).
• Moves intermittently during working hours and is subject to frequent interruptions.
• Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
• Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors.
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster).
• Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.

Pay

$18.69 - $28.04 hourly / $38,885 - $58,327 annually
