Part Time - Registered Nurse (DOH/FBMC #11620+)

Salary: $33.12 - $49.68 hourly / $68,886 - $103,330 annually. This position is a Pay Band C9 and may be used for ongoing recruitment.

About the role

This part-time position is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct resident care to an assigned group of residents during a shift. Responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standard-based framework model. Provide clinical supervision for non-professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.

Customers

Residents at a long-term care facility.

Ideal Candidate

• The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
• The ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

Requirements

• Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico.
• Two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Employment Requirements

• This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing.
• Will be screened for tuberculosis (TB) upon hire.
• Employment is subject to criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC) and is conditional pending results.
• Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico.

Working Conditions

• Works throughout the nursing service area (i.e., nurse's stations, resident rooms, etc.).
• Moves intermittently during working hours.
• Is subject to frequent interruptions.
• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
• Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors.
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
• Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.
• State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires adherence to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including masking and staff vaccination.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Pay

$33.12 - $49.68 hourly / $68,886 - $103,330 annually.

Schedule

Part-time. This position may require working beyond normal working hours, weekends, holidays, and being subject to call back during emergency conditions.
