Part-time Assistant Professor of Music (Music Education)
About the role
The Institute of Music at DePauw University invites applications for a part-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2026. Master’s degree in music education and public school teaching experience are required. Ph.D. (completed by August 2026) in music education is preferred; those with completed Master’s and ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential.
Responsibilities
- Teach Elementary General Music: Methods, Materials, and Curricula in the fall
- Teach Senior Seminar for Music Educators in the spring
- Observe student teachers in the spring
Requirements
- Master’s degree in music education and public school teaching experience
- Ph.D. (completed by August 2026) in music education preferred
- Evidence of effective and inclusive teaching
