About the role
We are growing and we are looking for an Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Obtaining patients’ medical history and performing physical assessment for assigned patients.
- Initiating a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or practice policy including patient and family instruction; explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding and alleviate apprehension.
- Observing patients, recording significant conditions and reactions and notifying Physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents; taking temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
- Maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients; responding to emergency situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Preparing the patient for the anticipated surgical procedure, including obtaining an informed consent, completing a pre-operative patient assessment, and performing any procedure or administering medications required to prepare the patient for surgery.
- Communicating with the circulating nurse, the recovery room nurse, the anesthesia care provider, and the surgeon to coordinate a safe and comfortable surgical experience.
- Maintaining patient safety in recovering from anesthetic and surgical medications.
- Ensuring that the patient understands their post-operative care requirements.
- Collaborating with other perioperative nursing staff, anesthesia care providers and the surgeon.
Requirements

Qualifications
- You have successfully completed an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program from a university or technical school.
- You have a current, valid RN license within the state of practice.
- You have previous experience in a hospital and/or surgery center.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and patient care protocols.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
