Part-Time Art Teacher - Larchmont, NY

About the role

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Contemporary Art Teacher to join our vibrant team at One River School of Art + Design. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of teaching experience and a passion for introducing young creators to contemporary art in an engaging and inspiring way.

Responsibilities

• Lead dynamic, hands-on weekly art classes for students (Monday through Sunday)
• Explore contemporary approaches across painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, mixed media, and 3D work
• Encourage experimentation, creative risk-taking, and big imaginative thinking
• Create “WOW moments” that build confidence and artistic voice
• Connect thoughtfully with families about student growth and creative breakthroughs

Requirements

• A practicing or highly engaged artist with 3+ years of teaching experience
• Experience working in a range of fine art styles (realism, abstract, expressionism, etc.)
• Confidence working across multiple mediums (oil painting, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, charcoal, oil pastel, chalk pastel, etc.)
• Energized by working with children and adults and nurturing their creative confidence
• A thoughtful communicator who values relationships with families and colleagues

Qualifications

• BFA or BS in Art Education required
• MFA or Master’s in Art Education is a plus
