About the role
Provide expert care for animals, including feeding, watering, health treatments, artificial insemination, assisting with the birthing process, and day-one care. Monitor animal behavior and health, administer vaccinations and medication under veterinary guidance, and maintain regulatory compliance and worker safety.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the behavior and health status of animals, promptly addressing any issues that arise.
- Administer vaccinations and medication under the guidance of Herd Veterinarians.
- Protect worker safety by following safe work habits and Safety Non-Negotiables.
- Adhere to Core Values and the Animal Care Stakeholder Commitment Statement.
- Ensure high-quality production of weaned pigs using sound science.
- Conduct pig production activities in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Maintain accurate and timely production records.
- Execute biosecurity practices to safeguard animal health.
- Clean and disinfect animal housing areas using power washers and approved treatments.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including trash removal and maintaining cleanliness of facilities.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment as needed.
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma preferred.
- One year of animal care or agricultural experience is a plus.

Pay
Targeted pay range of $16.50 - $19.27 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
