About the role

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the School of Government & International Affairs for the academic year 2026-2027. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching introductory political science classes, such as POLS 1101 "Introduction to American Government" or POLS 2401 "Global Issues"
  • Teaching upper-level or graduate political science or public administration courses as needed
  • Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Requirements

  • To teach undergraduate courses: A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire. OR A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • To Teach Graduate Courses A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or Public Administration or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or Public Administration or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An earned doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
