Part Time American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor - 1-to-1 Education

Brightmont Academy offers a part‑time, one‑to‑one American Sign Language (ASL) instructor position with a flexible schedule and no lesson planning or outside work required. Since 1999, Brightmont has provided personalized instruction to K‑12 students across 26 campuses in 11 states.

About the Role

This role focuses exclusively on teaching a single student at a time, allowing you to tailor each lesson to the learner’s unique needs and learning style while fostering confidence and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Teach ASL to students one‑on‑one, customizing instruction to individual needs.
• Guide students toward mastery using a gradual‑release approach.
• Focus solely on instruction—no lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading required.
• Participate in professional development opportunities offered by Brightmont Academy.

Requirements

• Experience teaching American Sign Language.
• Patience and empathy to support diverse learning styles.
• A genuine passion for teaching.
• Proficiency with G‑Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
• Ability to pass a federal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching certification (nice to have, not required).
• Advanced degree in a relevant subject area.
• Previous one‑to‑one teaching experience.

Pay

$25+ per hour.
