This position ensures compliance with company and Federal policies in the day-to-day operation of the station. The role involves effective communication of airline business to internal and external departments, goal-setting, performance measurement, and employee development. The ideal candidate leads by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills while motivating teams to achieve results.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize the health and safety of the workforce, ensuring employees understand corporate safety culture and environmental hazards.
- Maintain safe working conditions and practice safety standards, demonstrating accountability for safe operations.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal directives and security requirements; conduct audits for quality assurance.
- Control station expenses and maintain an effective cost-control program to monitor financial and operational performance.
- Develop and implement strategies, processes, and procedures to impact profitability positively.
- Establish and maintain relationships with airport officials, FAA, TSA, and local community as the company representative.
- Coordinate airline vendor functions and act as liaison for local contracts (e.g., fueling, skycap, security, catering, cleaning, ground handling).
- Evaluate performance and implement measures to review service provided to airlines.
- Develop and maintain airline partner/customer relationships, focusing on contract retention, performance metrics, and Service Level Agreements.
- Ensure compliance with airline and company policies and procedures related to operations, safety, customer service, baggage handling, and departure dependability.
- Monitor and verify quality control of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Establish cost-efficient work schedules for large workgroups, determining manpower requirements for peak travel, holidays, and schedule changes.
- Coordinate training to meet requirements for new hire, recurrent, supplemental, and local training compliance.
- Lead employees using a performance management and development process, including goal-setting, feedback, and development planning.
- Provide feedback, research, and respond to customer complaints/compliments in coordination with airline requirements.
- Establish employee recognition programs for safety, performance, and revenue collection achievements.
- Work to establish contract revenue and pursue opportunities to ensure station profitability.
- Conduct regular communication, including staff/leadership meetings, daily reporting, employee briefings, and townhall meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Director of Operations.

Physical Demands
- Must be able to carry a 70-pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry it in front of you with both hands for up to 25 feet.
- Physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and sustaining positions for extended periods.
- Sufficient vision and ability to perform essential functions safely.
Work Environment
Airport environment: both indoors and outdoors. Exposure to extreme temperature ranges. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or higher. A high school diploma or equivalent may be substituted with four years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Ten years of progressive management experience in the airline industry, with at least three years managing multiple airline contracts (75+ flights per week). In-depth knowledge of airline operations in an airport environment.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effective communication in English.
- Math Ability: Ability to analyze financial operations, profit and loss statements, customer invoices, and other mathematical functions necessary for managing airline operations.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, online timekeeping, and Outlook for tasks related to payroll and operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigration Act of 1986.
