Part Time After School Instructor--Towson

About the Role

Trellis Services is seeking part‑time instructors to work with children and adolescents (ages 9‑21) diagnosed with autism in the After‑School Program located in Towson, MD 21286. Instructors work under the supervision of experienced Case Managers, applying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to provide one‑on‑one support for community independence, daily living, and recreation/leisure activities. The position offers a strong foundation for a career in special education and related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to children and adolescents with autism during after‑school sessions.
  • Assist clients with community independence, daily living skills, and recreational/leisure activities.
  • Transport clients using a personal vehicle as needed.
  • Follow supervision and guidance from Case Managers while gaining experience with ABA techniques.
  • Adapt to flexible schedules, including afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • At least 100 hours of work, volunteer, or personal experience with individuals who have developmental delays.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
  • Physical ability to push, pull, lift up to 35 lb, sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, run, and move quickly according to client needs.

Schedule

The After‑School Program operates:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Immediate openings are available for:

  • Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Additional flexible schedules, including afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts, are offered across Maryland counties (Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Talbot).
