Snapology programs incorporate the use of LEGO bricks, K'NEX & Technology to teach STEM learning concepts, Teamwork, and Social Skills to preschool and school age children. Position: The primary focus of an Snapology After School Instructor is to teach Snapology programs in a fun and engaging way. Snapology Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, problem-solving skills and fun while educating students on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts. After-School Programs are conducted for children ages 5 -14. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology brand to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism. After-School Pay Rate: $35 - $50 per 1 hr Class (~1.75 to 2 hrs total time commitment) Benefits: Having fun while you work (LEGO, Robotics and more)Paid trainingDiscounted/Free Programming for Children/Family MembersFlexible work hoursAdditional hours possible with advanced/flexible scheduling (Teach Evening/Weekend Programs, Administrative Tasks, etc.)Option for 25 to 45 hours per week during Summer Months Role & Responsibilities: Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities Transport learning materials to class/workshop/field trip location (as needed)Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs & encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required Qualifications: Criminal and Child Clearances current or willing to undergo screening (reimbursed)2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment Classroom teaching experience preferred, teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Reliable transportation that can be used to transport materials and suppliesAbility to lift 20 lbs without difficulty Programs & Availability: Weekday After-School Programs (required)Evening Classes/Workshops (preferred)Weekend Workshops and/or Birthday Parties (preferred)Daytime Weekday Field Trips during School Year & Summer (optional)Summer camps (optional)Special events, holiday and break workshops (optional) This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Snapology After School Instructors typically work between 6-15 hours per week during the school year teaching after-school, evening &/or weekend programs during the school year. Additional hours may be available if interested in teaching/assisting with other programming and/or performing administrative tasks.
