Duties Supervise children during after-school programs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all timesImplement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development aligned with educational standardsManage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategiesCollaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate children's progress and address any concernsAdminister basic first aid when necessary, following health and safety protocolsSupport children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when requiredMonitor individuals or small groups of students assigned to an after-school program; assure student understanding of program rules and procedures; maintain appropriate order and student conduct.Assist in the planning and implementation of a daily program which will meet the needs of the children in attendance; set up program, project, and activity areas as needed. Support in teacher coordination and overall program operations for Extended Care and Enrichment classes.Foster a positive relationship with teachers and staffAssist in maintaining program standards of student behavior needed to achieve effective participation in activities without interfering with the natural, informal atmosphere of the After-School Program; assist in resolving student disputes; refer serious discipline problems to program supervisors.Maintain a clean and organized environment for students; demonstrate and involve students in cleaning and organizing the program activities areas before, during, and after use.Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or tutoring settingsStrong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain discipline in a positive mannerKnowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practicesBachelor's degree preferred with a focus on education or child development.Contagious enthusiasm and charisma, a passion for customer service, and the ability to engage and inspire students, parents, and colleagues.Encourager of student engagement and participation by fostering peer and multi-age activities.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.Risk-taker with a creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving.Outstanding multitasking skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.One year experience working with children Create a Job Match for Similar Jobs About Children's Community School Children’s Community School is a progressive school dedicated to teaching children to think for themselves, collaborate successfully with others, and take responsibility for their own education in a safe and loving environment.
