Part-time Adjunct Instructor - Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
About the role
The Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (LCSEE) at West Virginia University (WVU) seeks part-time adjunct instructors to support the department's educational and research initiatives. The department is expanding its offerings and enhancing its online and in-person student experiences.
Responsibilities
- Teach and develop online asynchronous courses.
- Teach in-person undergraduate or graduate students.
- Advise/mentor online graduate students.
Requirements
Eligible candidates must hold an earned doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Significant industry experience (10+ years) or a BS and MS degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering from an accredited university may also be considered.
Candidates with active research experience, academic publications, and an interest in advising/mentoring doctoral students are highly desirable.
Qualifications
The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to teach effectively online and in-person, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment are essential.
