About the Role

Part‑time Accounts Receivable Specialist at URM Stores, Inc., a well‑established food distributor in the Inland Northwest. This role is designed for an experienced, detail‑oriented accounting professional who is enthusiastic about contributing to a supportive team and pursuing long‑term career growth. The position offers approximately 20–29 hours per week and focuses on managing accounts receivable tasks, supporting financial operations, and building strong working relationships within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Post payments to the accounts receivable system.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding invoice and payment application questions.
  • Identify balances due for processing of credit card and ACH sweep payments.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable subsystem daily.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Process outgoing payment collection support.
  • Scan documents to archive credit memos and other accounts receivable supporting documentation.
  • Track expiring reseller permits for all Foodservice and C‑Store accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of customer statements.
  • Provide switchboard relief.
  • Maintain customer files, including correspondence and remittance information.
  • Back‑up other positions as needed.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of accounts receivable experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent calculator/computerized spreadsheet skills.
  • Team player with a positive “can‑do” approach.
  • Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
  • 10‑Key experience.
  • Strong communication skills.

Schedule

Approximately 20–29 hours per week.

Pay

Salary range $21–$25 per hour, depending on experience.
