Part Time Accounting Assistant
We're seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounting Associate to support key accounting operations in a collaborative and growing remote environment. This part-time role offers flexibility and the potential to grow into a full-time position.
About the role
As a key member of our accounting team, you'll support daily financial operations in a 100% remote, flexible work environment. The position is approximately 20 hours per week with a preference for availability during Pacific Time business hours, and offers growth potential to full-time.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accounts receivable process, including cash receipts, recurring tenant billings, billing adjustments, and tenant ledger reconciliations.
- Coordinate accounts payable, ensuring invoices are coded accurately and supported by complete documentation.
- Monitor sales information and review reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Review leases and leasing activity to ensure tenant billing aligns with lease terms.
- Assist with annual budgeting activities, including lease-level budgeting and capital budget preparation.
- Process miscellaneous income and specialty leasing estimates in the accounting system.
- Support quarterly financial reporting in collaboration with the corporate accounting team.
- Assist with year-end reconciliations, including:
- CAM (Common Area Maintenance)
- Percentage Rent
- Insurance
- Utilities
- Sewer/Trash
- Real Estate Taxes
- Partner with accounting and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Perform additional bookkeeping and accounting duties as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of recent Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience.
- Hands-on Yardi software experience (required).
- Strong bookkeeping and accounting background, including invoicing and reconciliations.
- Experience maintaining tenant ledgers and lease-based billing.
- Ability to interpret and apply lease terms accurately.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Property management accounting experience.
- Experience supporting annual budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of CAM, percentage rent, and property-related reconciliations.
- Experience assisting with quarterly and year-end reporting.
- Comfort using accounting and financial reporting systems remotely.
- Adaptability and willingness to support evolving business needs.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Schedule
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling with a preference for availability during Pacific Time business hours
- Work can typically be completed across approximately 4 hours per day
