About the role

The academic success coach reports to the principal of Early College High School (ECHS) and is responsible for various academic support tasks, including developing an individualized work plan, assessing student academic achievement, participating in discipline-related activities, and supporting the mission, vision, and values of both LCCC and ECHS.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Lorain County Community College (LCCC) policies and procedures.
  • Develop an individualized work plan annually, in consultation with the ECHS principal.
  • Participate in the assessment of student academic achievement.
  • Participate in discipline-related activities and organizations.
  • Support student achievement by reviewing course syllabi, student grades, communicating with instructors, students, and counselors.
  • Be responsible for specific core-subject intervention.

Requirements

  • Some college preferred or seeking an education degree for grade levels 9 - 12.
  • Exceptional communication skills required.
  • Ability to assist students across the core-subject curriculum and manage a high school classroom.
  • Knowledge of state requirements for high school graduation.

Schedule
