Part-time academic employee (TAP-FU) to Center for Translational Neuromedicine
About the role
The Center for Translational Neuromedicine is part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen and is located at the Panum Institute. It employs around 50 staff and students and features newly constructed laboratories with excellent neuroscience facilities. The Division of Glial Disease and Therapeutics focuses on the basic biology of glial cells (astrocytes) in the central nervous system and their involvement in stroke, spinal cord injury, epilepsy, tremor, ALS, and schizophrenia, as well as sleep‑wake regulation of astrocytic calcium signaling. The research aims to define new treatment strategies for neurological diseases by targeting astrocytic dysfunction. In this role you will join a multidisciplinary neuroscience team and assist in a project investigating cerebrospinal fluid drainage during a migraine attack. Your duties will include performing cisterna magna injections, conducting in vivo imaging of cortical cerebrospinal fluid tracer influx using mesoscopic fluorescence imaging, assessing lymphatic drainage of cerebrospinal fluid tracers in the cervical lymphatics, and generating migraine rodent models using pharmacological models.
