About the Role
The Department of Neurology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor (HS) to direct and enhance the Clinical Skills Course for medical students.
- Direct the development, implementation, organization, and teaching of the Clinical Skills Course for Foundations 1 and/or Foundations 2 students.
- Develop and implement curriculum topics for an integrated medical program.
- Collaborate with basic and clinical science educators to integrate basic sciences horizontally and vertically within organ/system-based courses.
- Design and implement Physical Exam Laboratory and Evidence-Based Medicine Laboratory experiences for medical students.
- Support student remediation planning and activities.
- Design and deliver an outstanding student experience, ensuring a learning environment that promotes mutual respect and professional behavior.
- Provide course schedules, syllabi, and information for the educational database.
- Select and evaluate faculty who teach students, offering development opportunities and feedback on teaching.
- May serve as a College Master (student mentor, academic advisor, and role model) and supervise the academic progress of an assigned group of students throughout their medical program, based on qualifications.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) Degree.
- Board Certification or eligibility in Neurology.
