Part-time position located on Marist University's main campus.

About the Role

The academic advisor regularly meets with students to develop their four-year course planning, ensuring pathways are chosen by the end of the first year, academic and degree requirements are met, and students are on a path for success throughout their time at Marist. Advisors address student questions as they arise, assist when a student is struggling in a course, and provide guidance on opportunities such as internships and study abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Meet individually with students in person
  • Answer student emails and phone calls
  • Consult with SCA Director of Advising and Department Chairs
  • Participate in school and department meetings and attend necessary trainings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advising experience in higher education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Professional experience in Communications, Art, Fashion, or Film/TV
  • 1-3 years experience in academic advising

Pay

$23/hour - $26/hour
