Part-Time (.5) Spanish Teacher

About the role

The part-time Spanish Teacher will design and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction to high school students, integrating culturally responsive teaching practices and supporting BAA’s artist-scholar and global citizen mission.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction to high school students
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices
• Support BAA’s artist-scholar and global citizen mission
• Plan and teach lessons
• Absess student progress
• Differentiate instruction
• Provide regular feedback to students and families
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in teaching Spanish with the ability to instruct diverse learners at the high school level
• Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development, including standards-based and culturally responsive curricula
• Ability to provide targeted support through small-group instruction
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Relevant teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts
• Experience working in urban public schools and commitment to equity and inclusion is highly desirable
• Comfort integrating arts-focused and interdisciplinary approaches into language instruction
