Part-Time, 10-Month Learning Support Paraprofessional (Grades 7-8)

Part-time, 10-month Learning Support Paraprofessional position at Dallastown Area Middle School (Grades 7-8).

Schedule

Follows student attendance with full-day hours from 8:45 AM - 2:45 PM (5.50 work hours and a half-hour unpaid lunch). Additional days may be arranged by your supervisor. Summers off (typically no pay periods July through August). Bi-weekly pay periods begin mid-September and continue through late-June.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of a locally developed assessment, OR
• Associate's Degree or higher, OR
• At least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more)
• Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year
• Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children
• Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others
• Acceptable record of attendance

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or with small groups of students as directed by the teacher
• Aid in supervision of students in both the classroom and the cafeteria
• Assist teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises
• Perform routine clerical work
• Work with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
