About the role
Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Facility in Parsons, KS manufactures precision parts for passenger and military aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Marks identification on all parts as required per the specification (drawing) as well other duties as assigned
- Packages parts for stock and/or shipment
- Closes out work orders as needed
- Maintains stockroom
- Prepares parts for shipment; i.e. Pull items from daily lists, validate counts, assemble wooden and cardboard boxes. Insert parts into shipping containers with the proper paperwork and proper labels
- Maintains and executes daily cycle counts in finished goods warehouse
- Maintains a clean work area/environment (6s)
- Operates hand-truck to move parts to stock and distribute items as needed
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed
Requirements
- Ability to operate a hand truck to move parts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars (preferred)
- Read and understand internal procedures and policies
- Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
- Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Business
- Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience in quality management with supervisory experience, including military, where applicable, and commercial customers
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic math skills
- Basic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance
