Parkview Therapy Services Clinical Intern

About the role

Parkview Therapy Services is seeking a Clinical Intern to work as a PRN Rehab Technician at their Wabash location. This position offers hands-on experience in an outpatient therapy setting for students pursuing a healthcare-related degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist the designated RN Preceptor and additional RNs with care of all age groups within the Standard of Care set by Parkview Health and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act.
• Participate in delegated patient care including vital signs, activities of daily living, safety, and supervised patient communication.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, patients' families, co-workers, and physicians.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; or be a high school student enrolled in a work development class (ICE program or equivalent).
• If a nursing student, must be currently enrolled in an accredited ASN or BSN program.
• Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
• Must be in pursuit of an ASN or BSN degree in nursing.
• Current CPR BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; or be a high school student enrolled in a work development class (ICE program or equivalent).
• Nursing education: Currently enrolled in an accredited ASN or BSN program.
• Licensure/Certification: Current CPR BLS certification required.

Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computer skills and applications.
• Ability to critically think.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
