The pay for this role is $36-48 per hour DOE. The shift for this role is typically day shift from Monday - Friday scheduled between the hours of 7AM up to 10PM. Coverage every on Saturday/Sunday may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides maintenance services for the Environmental Services Department in accordance with policies, procedures and safety & environmental guidelines.
  • Develops working procedures and schedules for the job, material requirements, and other equipment as required.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include, plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Understands the inventory/resources of the department, and knows the facility layout.
  • Prepares and organizes materials and equipment before starting a task.
  • Cleans and maintains tools and equipment daily.
  • Reports equipment/items to supervisor that need repair immediately.
  • Makes notes of any problems found, or resident comments, and turns them in daily to the supervisor.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Reports all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your supervisor immediately.
  • Makes notes and reports daily when any supplies need ordering.
  • Performs daily rounds and check of various systems as assigned, including related record keeping.
  • Relieves at reception desk as requested, and works overtime and/or other shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Formal training in vocational school or trade apprenticeship is required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in the English language to communicate with team and perform all related tasks.
  • Ability to respond to building emergencies and conduct one’s self in a professional manner at all times.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Be constantly aware of safety issues and ensure compliance.
  • General knowledge of applicable standards and regulations with local, state, and fire building codes and laws.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and external consultants necessary.
  • Hold an EPA, boiler and air-conditioning certification.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, and be knowledgeable in all construction trades.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions and instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team in a semi-stressful environment, with the desire and ability to solve problems, have initiative, and be willing to work flexible hours, weekends, emergencies and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service skills and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of cleanliness.
  • Must be able to work in different physical positions to complete tasks, while providing a variety of physically demanding maintenance-related tasks inside and outside the building.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to work with tools and equipment.
