Parks Maintenance Worker/Heavy Equipment Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and removing weeds.
• Inspect playground equipment and park facilities for safety and functionality.
• Collect and dispose of trash and litter from park grounds and facilities.
• Auxiliary in planting trees, flowers, and shrubs to enhance City entrance features.
• Conduct regular maintenance on park benches, signs, and structures.
• Operate and maintain various tools and machinery used in park upkeep.
• Auxiliary in coordinating and supporting community events and activities held in the parks.

Qualifications And Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions carefully.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Valid driver’s license is required. Ability to obtain a CDL license during employment is required.
• Ability to obtain Colorado Pesticide Applicator's license during employment is required.

Working Conditions

• This position involves outdoor work and requires physical effort in various weather conditions.
• The role may include weekend and holiday shifts as needed to accommodate park events and maintenance schedules.
