Parks Crew Lead - Athletic Fields

About the role

The City of Aurora is seeking a Parks Crew Lead to join its team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of solid grounds maintenance experience and a knack for leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work on facilities and properties
• Assist Supervisor to plan, assign, monitor, and coordinate the work activities of assigned crew
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the crew in the absence of the Supervisor
• Resolve problems and conflicts
• Prepare productivity and activity reports
• Report and investigate accidents as needed
• Update records and make recommendations concerning materials, manpower, and equipment used
• Maintain and enforce safety regulations and procedures
• Implement preventative maintenance programs
• Participate in training, evaluating, and supervising assigned employees
• Perform snow and ice removal
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: At least 3 years progressively responsible related experience, including at least 1 year of supervisory or lead work experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in landscape and turf maintenance, experience in operating and maintaining irrigation systems, experience in pesticide application, experience in operating equipment for maintaining parks

Benefits

Salary to be commensurate with experience. The hiring rate for this role is $28.28 - $35.35 per hour.
