About the role
The Public Works Department supports the Parks and Conservation Resources (PCR) Department in delivering park capital improvement projects, including boardwalks, playgrounds, boat ramps, trails, parking lots, sports fields, and other park facilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage park capital projects from planning through construction
- Support design, bidding, and construction phases
- Develop project scopes and objectives
- Cookordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Review contracts, invoices, and project documents
- Track budgets, costs, and schedules
- Ensure compliance with County requirements
Requirements
- Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver's License
- Work a variety of schedules including compulsory work periods during special, emergency, or disaster situations.
Qualifications
- Project Management Specialist 1: Six (6) years of experience in project management that includes two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment; or an Associate’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience in the area of assignment; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Project Management Specialist 2: Seven (7) years of experience in project management that includes two (2) years of experience in the area of assignment; or an Associate’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience in the area of assignment; or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture or directly related field and three (3) years of experience in the design and construction of public and institutional building projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
