Parking & Transportation Field Services Officer II

Under general supervision, this position patrols campus to ensure compliance with university parking regulations, responds to violations on foot, bicycle, or in motor vehicles, and provides assistance to motorists, bicyclists, and various University departments and programs such as University of Iowa Health Care, University Van Pool, Parking Cashiering and Maintenance, and University Police.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus to enforce motorist and bicycle parking regulations; issue parking violations through operation of electronic ticket writers; use independent discretion when enforcing parking regulations.
• Analyze and resolve campus parking issues that impact faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Operate License Plate Recognition system.
• Screen, clear, and secure lots prior to and during special events.
• Work in a variety of environments including high traffic public areas, low-lit areas, and exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Requirements

• Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Any combination of public contact experience and/or college or university level course work equivalent to three years of full-time employment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet University of Iowa Driving Policy.

Desirable Qualifications

• Knowledge of University of Iowa Campus and locations of various parking facilities.
• Customer service/public contact experience.
• Ability to adapt, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with people from various backgrounds and cultures.

Schedule

Multiple openings are available on both 1st Shift and 2nd Shift. Applicants may be considered for either shift based on qualifications, availability, and operational needs. Overtime may be required for special events (e.g., athletic events, concerts).
