About the role

The Parking Supervisor at the Greater Columbus Convention Center is responsible for overseeing the parking staff and operations. This role also involves coordinating special projects and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the Parking department and user group contacts, hotel partners, and Public Safety Department/CPD.
  • Complete an inspection of each facility and its equipment each shift and report any variances or concerns.
  • Provide a shift log on the operating status of parking access and revenue control equipment to the Parking Coordinator, Assistant Manager, and Manager.
  • Supervise daily activities of Lane Ambassadors and Maintenance staff in the parking department to ensure compliance with expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative team-building environment, providing leadership and communicating policies and operational information.
  • Handle customer issues and inquiries, promoting positive customer relations by being responsive and attentive to customer needs.
  • Absorb and administer appropriate actions related to the Progressive Disciplinary Policy.
  • Handle parking revenue control equipment issues and service them when necessary.
  • Plan and supervise the general maintenance tasks in our facilities.
  • Assist in snow removal and remediation efforts during inclement weather periods and conditions to provide a clean and safe parking experience and pedestrian travel on our footprint.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of parking management/supervisory experience.
  • Proven knowledge in parking practices and procedures including cashiering duties, monetary reconciliation, parking facility maintenance, customer service, and mechanical and computerized parking access and revenue control systems.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clear driving record.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to drive a standard shift vehicle.
  • Operating knowledge of Tennant brand or equivalent equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, or talking.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while working rotating shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions

  • Indoor and outdoor settings with exposure to noise, heat, rain, and cold.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends, holidays.
