About the role
Monitor parking meters, issue citations, install traffic signs, immobilize vehicles, and report serious infractions to the on-duty supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Monitor parking meters and issue citations for violations
- Install traffic signs as needed
- Immobilize vehicles in accordance with regulations
- Report serious infractions to the on-duty supervisor
- Operate portable radios, electronic ticket writers, and immobilization devices while patrolling on foot
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid and unrestricted U.S. Driver’s license (corrective lenses permitted) and must meet Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Capable of sitting and standing in one location for long periods of time
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
- Effective command of the English language; excellent oral and written communication skills
- Physically able to walk several miles while operating equipment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience issuing traffic citations
- Experience using electronic ticket writers
- Experience using immobilization devices
- Experience operating radio communications devices
