Responsibilities

  • Treat each customer with respect and kindness, ensuring each interaction delivers on the SP+ Promise of making every moment matter.
  • Be present and ready to assist customers every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
  • Count the “bank” of revenue at the start of each shift to ensure the starting total is accurate.
  • Collect cash and/or validations and maintain the security of the collected funds.
  • Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customers for each transaction.
  • Compute or recalculate bills from tickets showing the amount due per customer.
  • Quote prices for parking services and receive payment upon customer receipt.
  • Give directions to city locations and assist customers in navigating the facility.
  • Complete lost ticket forms when the original tickets cannot be found.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently, seeking supervisor assistance when needed.
  • Answer telephones promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the booth and pick up trash in the surrounding area.
  • Conduct timely checks to ensure proper inventory of necessary work aids and supplies are available.
  • Verify the log of shift transactions against the bank of collected revenue on hand.
  • Compile the “bank” of collected revenue during the day once a predetermined amount has been collected.
  • Record amounts received, cars in/out of the facility, and cars left in the facility (if applicable) while preparing the shift report of transactions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Qualifications

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required.
    • Licenses Required: The individual will only be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.
    • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to make change.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
    • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but standard written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use a clock (standard/military time), calculator (optional), or credit card machine to handle transactions. Ability to maintain a pleasant and mannerly demeanor when speaking on the telephone and with the public. Ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints.
