Parking Ambassador (Staff Wage)
About the role
The Parking Ambassador performs a variety of tasks to assist the mission of Parking and Transportation in serving the University of Virginia Community. Duties include working in the field to serve as a customer service representative, helping patrons pay for parking through the ParkMobile app, assisting with special events as needed, directing traffic as part of strategic overflow control, and greeting customers and assisting with their needs.
Responsibilities
- Help patrons pay for parking through the ParkMobile app.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Direct traffic as part of strategic overflow control.
- Greet customers and assist with their needs.
- Serve as parking enforcement officers.
- Serve as customer service representatives.
- Serve as service crew technicians.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license with a zero or positive point balance is required.
Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to efficiently and responsibly handle credit card operations through ParkMobile.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a robust knowledge base via cross training.
- Basic working knowledge of computers.
- Must have the ability to learn parking resource management systems (ParkMobile, handheld devices for parking enforcement, etc.).
Skills
- Ability to cross-train quickly, effectively, and efficiently.
Benefits
This is a wage position (part time) which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.
