About the Role
Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Parking Officer to support our growing healthcare community. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring traffic safety, and facilitating construction projects through accurate parking management and equipment troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate data on parking occupancy to support construction project management and efficient space allocation.
- Maintain and resolve issues with Pay on Foot (POF) machines and AMANO equipment, ensuring smooth operation of parking and payment systems for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Enforce traffic safety policies within parking lots, including monitoring speed limits, pedestrian crossings, and proper parking in designated areas; issue warnings, notices, or citations as necessary.
- Issue sequentially numbered parking tickets with date and time stamps at visitor entry and retain stubs for turn-in at the end of each shift.
- Deposit collected revenue into the Cashier Depository.
- Control parking lot capacity and influence traffic flow into, out of, and through the parking lot.
- Maintain fixed surveillance of parked vehicles as directed by supervisors.
- Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting POF and AMANO equipment, addressing issues such as ticket jams and deposit problems.
- Support construction projects by ensuring accurate parking data and smooth traffic flow to minimize campus disruptions.
- Patrol parking lots to ensure compliance with MSMC traffic and parking rules.
- Monitor drivers for compliance with MSMC traffic rules and issue warnings as directed by supervisors.
- Screen individuals entering MSMC property for proper destination and purpose, rerouting unauthorized persons courteously.
- Assist staff, patients, and visitors by providing safe escorts to and from parking lots and entrances.
- Conduct area checks to ensure the physical security of parking lots and grounds.
- Lock doors, clear areas, and implement other physical security measures as required by procedures or conditions.
- Greet and assist patients and visitors cheerfully, providing escorts and opening doors upon request.
- Familiarize yourself with all pertinent MSMC and Security Department policies and procedures, translating them into appropriate actions.
- Maintain compliance with all laws, statutes, and ordinances, both on and off duty.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s license with a “good” driving history (no D.U.I. or felony traffic violations and no more than 4 points).
- High School Diploma or equivalency (desirable).
- Parking revenue collection and traffic control experience (preferable).
