Job Responsibilities
Aids in the operation and maintenance of Myrtle Beach State Park. Assists with park administrative tasks, safety programs, and visitor interpretation. Performs routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings, and equipment. Instructs and supervises maintenance staff. Enforces park rules and regulations. Communicates with visitors about the cultural and natural resources of the park.
Responsibilities
- Assists with overall operation and maintenance of a State Park
- Oversee safety program and practice & promote safety on the park
- Assists with park administrative duties in accordance with department policy and procedures
- Plans and implements long and short-term goals
- Collects and accounts for revenue and produces required reports
- Instructs, supervises, and performs routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings, and equipment
- Promotes teamwork within the park and/or region, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders
- Represents office as an active member on agency teams
- Interprets the cultural and natural resources of the State Park Service to park visitors
- Enforces park rule enforcement activities within his/her authority and established park policy
Requirements
- Associate degree in Park Management or related field with one (1) year of park ranger experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Additional Requirements: Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at height. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Valid South Carolina driver's license required.
