Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general park operations, including managing the park team, developing and refining park operations.
- Aid in improving visitor experiences.
- Work with community partners on events and projects.
- Oversee outside events and requests through Special Use Permits.
- Seek ways to increase park attendance.
- Aid in educational and interpretive programs.
- Help develop a strong can-do culture focused on improving the team at Echo State Park.
Qualifications
- Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Oversee general park operations, assist in improving visitor experiences, work with community partners on events and projects, oversee outside events and requests through Special Use Permits, seek ways to increase park attendance, assist with educational and interpretive programs, help develop a strong can-do culture focused on improving the team at Echo State Park, working outdoors in adverse conditions, requires working weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: A focus on improving processes at the park and division levels, a team-oriented mindset, value empathy in problem-solving with staff and customers, general maintenance best practices, the ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks at the same time, the ability to effectively supervise others and communicate work assignments to staff members, must have basic computer skills and experience in MS Office and Google, public communication skills and general experience in budgeting, maintenance, interpretation, resource management, customer service relations, understanding state park policy, strategic planning and goal setting, active leadership skills and experience, driver license, must pass a background check, travel is required, may be called out for emergency situations, possible on-call status.
